I believe deeply in extended family photographs, not as a nice extra, but as something truly meaningful. Watching my own parents age has changed the way I see these moments.
When my mum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and nearly lost her life due to surgical complications, it was a wake-up call I never expected. Suddenly, time felt fragile and incredibly precious.
Extended family photos became about more than gathering everyone together. They became a way to preserve my children’s memories of the people shaping their lives - grandparents, parents and grandchildren all in one frame, while we still can.
You don’t need perfect outfits or the perfect time. You just need to be there together.
Because one day, these photographs won’t just be pictures.
They’ll be family history. They’ll be legacy.
